New Outreach Program

We recently developed our first outreach program!  It’s a hands-on experience (of course) designed to illustrate (pun intended) the science and art of animation.  Students learned about “persistence of vision”,  made thaumatropes,  and worked in teams to come up with plots, characters and create their own stop-motion animations!

We ran our first outreach program at the Wheeler School Summer Camp, and I’m pleased to say that it was a great success!  But don’t take my word for it – here are quotes from the counselors.

“I just would like to thank you very much for coming to our camp!  I feel that lots of kids loved this and would like to do it more and more!  Thanks so, so much, I too had a great time!” – female counsellor, aged between 11 and 19

“I REALLY enjoyed this, but most importantly, the kids had a great time and I really think they learned a lot.  You seemed well prepared and were able to accomplish quite a bit in such a short time.” – male counsellor, aged “over 40″
